This Privacy Policy explains how Drovby ("Drovby", "we", "us", or "our"), operated by Technology Junction, collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Drovby mobile application and website (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the Service:

Information you provide

• Account information — such as your name, email address, and password when you create an account.
• Vehicle information — details of the rides you add, including make, model, registration/plate number, odometer readings, and service, repair, and fuel records you log.
• Documents — files you choose to upload, such as insurance papers, registration, licences, and receipts.
• Communications — messages you send to our support team.

Information collected automatically

• Device & usage data — device model, operating system, app version, app interactions, and crash or diagnostic logs.
• Approximate or precise location — only when you enable it, to show nearby fuel stations and service centers (see Section 3).
• Identifiers — such as a device identifier or advertising identifier, where applicable and permitted.

2. How we use your information

• To provide and maintain the Service, including your garage, logs, and documents.
• To calculate fuel economy and running costs and to generate reminders based on time and mileage.
• To recommend highly-rated fuel stations and service providers near you.
• To sync your data across devices (on plans that include cloud sync).
• To respond to your requests and provide customer support.
• To improve, secure, and troubleshoot the Service.
• To send service-related notifications and, where you have opted in, product updates.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

3. Location data

Drovby uses location only to find fuel stations and service centers near you and to improve the relevance of those recommendations. You control this through your device permissions and can turn location access off at any time; the rest of the app will continue to work. We do not continuously track your location in the background unless you explicitly enable a feature that requires it.

4. Legal bases for processing

Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we process personal data on the following bases: performance of our contract with you (to provide the Service), your consent (for example, location and marketing messages), our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service), and compliance with legal obligations.

5. How we share information

We do not share your personal information except as described below:

• Service providers — vendors who host our infrastructure, provide analytics, deliver notifications, or process payments, acting on our instructions under confidentiality obligations.
• Maps & places providers — to power nearby recommendations, a request containing location may be sent to a mapping/places provider.
• App stores — Apple and Google process your subscription and payment for paid plans under their own privacy policies.
• Legal & safety — where required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and property.
• Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

6. Advertising & analytics

The free plan may display banner advertisements. Advertising and analytics partners may use identifiers and usage data to measure and serve ads and to understand app performance. You can limit ad personalization through your device settings (for example, "Limit Ad Tracking" on iOS or "Opt out of Ads Personalization" on Android). Paid plans are ad-free.

7. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to meet legal, accounting, or security requirements.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and to respond promptly to any incident.

9. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict the use of your personal data, and to object to certain processing or withdraw consent. You can exercise many of these directly in the app, or by contacting us using the details below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

10. Account & data deletion

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time from within the app (Settings → Account → Delete account) or by emailing privacy@drovby.com. We will process verified requests within a reasonable time and confirm once complete.

11. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place as required by applicable law.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
